There is an Apple Watch and other smartwatch-like devices. I’m not saying that without reason, because the Watch is the best-selling smartwatch. What further sets the Apple Watch apart from the competition is that it has the largest selection of various accessories with which the watch can be personalized according to the owner’s taste. Like Apple, there is NOMAD and other phone accessories manufacturers.

Although NOMAD has been around since 2012, it was only in 2016 that they began producing accessories for Apple products such as cases, straps, and charging bases. NOMAD is certainly best known for its leather iPhone cases, which are always at the top in terms of quality. If I remember correctly, at first they only offered leather straps for the Apple Watch, and later they introduced rubber ones as well. The advantage of rubber straps over leather straps should not be emphasized, especially if we wear the watch during sports activities.

Sweat and water don’t go well with a leather strap, so I’ll always prefer a quality rubber strap.

What makes NOMAD different from the competition is that all their products are very well designed, made of quality materials, and very durable. The sport rubber strap for Apple Watch is made from FKM rubber. This is a class of synthetic rubber designed to work at very high temperatures and is resistant to chemicals and oil. At the same time, this rubber is antibacterial and very durable to tear. From the selection of materials, it can be seen that this is not just another in a series of “ordinary” rubber bands.

The sport strap has specially designed magnetic pins with which it is more firmly attached to the watch. When all the pins are in place, the strap sits firmly and becomes part of the watch. There are ventilation channels on the inside of the band for air flow even if we firmly tighten band. Although these ventilation ducts appear miniature, they do their job flawlessly. In comparison, I had the official rubber Nike strap which has little ventilation holes, but my hand sweated much more in it during sports activities than in the Nomad sport strap.

The band, along with the ventilation channels on the inside, has holes that, in addition to ventilation, are used for secure locking via a pin mechanism. As soon as the pin slides into the hole, it holds firmly. The band will suit anyone with a wrist circumference between 155 and 200 mm, and the excess fits elegantly inside the band.

My wrist circumference is about 180 mm and as I like to wear it a bit loose, I tighten it on the fifth hole from the end.

As I wear my Apple Watch almost 24 hours a day, it is very important for me that the strap is comfortable and does not irritate me. With this NOMAD sports band, I can forget that it’s on my arm. It doesn’t irritate me and I didn’t experience any redness on my skin during long-term wear. Maintenance is also very easy. After sports activity, it is enough to wash it under running water with a little soap or shower gel. I usually do it while I’m in the shower.

The NOMAD sports belt is available in eight colors (for now), and my favorite is the limited edition colors, including this ultra orange. Although this color may go best with the Apple Watch Ultra model, it can be combined with other models and colors of the watch without any problems. My 8 series watch (45mm) has a black rubber case protector and with it, the strap fits perfectly. The color ultra orange only comes in the 45/49 mm size, so pay attention to the size when choosing your Apple Watch.

During wearing it, I did not notice that the band collects dirt. Even after a couple of weeks of constant wear, the color is as intense as the first day. The price of the belt on the official website is $59.95. Some may say that’s a lot of money for a simple watch strap, but if you want the best then you have to pay a price. In end, I can say that I did not have opportunity to try a better rubber band than this.

Once a NOMAD, always a NOMAD!
